When they say that the United States is the 'land of opportunity,' they actually mean places like Los Angeles. The 'City of Angels' is also referred to as the 'city of dreams' because, as many have put, this is where dreams come true. At least, dreams of going big in show business. that is. The entertainment capital of the world, LA has invited many to live there. Several of whom try to pursue their careers. while others simply choose to live there for pleasant weather. If you plan to travel to tinsel town, or simply for the LA sunshine, here are the neighborhoods worth checking out.

Beverly Hills

Firstly, let's start with the most famous neighborhood in all of LA, Beverly Hills. Home to many of Hollywood's elite, it's practically the most glamorous place one could call home. Huge mansions, luxury apartments, and stunning townhouses make up this iconic address. And it's so beloved, they've even made countless shows about it! So if you do end up living here, there's not only a big chance you meet a celebrity, but you might become one as well!

Downtown LA

If you're more into the urban lifestyle, Downtown LA is your place. It's where the skyscrapers are and where big business is held. It's also where the art scene of LA really is. Although Hollywood is technically an art capital, it's only focused on one specific type of art, namely filmmaking. Here at Downtown LA, modern art reigns supreme. As well as the nightlife too! An array of swanky nightclubs and cool bar await you here!

Echo Park

Los Angeles, in many ways, is a city for active people. With its wide-open spaces and pleasant climate, it's a joyous place to just put on your trainers and work out. And in all the neighborhoods in the city, Echo Park is perhaps the perfect place for all you active travelers out there. A good number of green parks and biking pathways allow you to exercise as much as you can. Even the lake here offers a few good activities to get your adrenaline pumping!

Los Feliz

Los Feliz is slowly but surely becoming quite the hot neighborhood in LA. A lot of cool establishments are popping up here, from laid-back cafes to bustling bars at night. It's the type of area where young adults can work and play in equal measure, allowing for a well-balanced life. And speaking of balanced, families can also live here as the area is largely suburban in nature. So it's a win-win situation here!

Pasadena

But if you really want an authentic suburban lifestyle, Pasadena is the neighborhood to settle in! The vibe here is so quiet and peaceful, you really wouldn't think it's still part of LA. With only a 10-minute drive to Downtown LA, it feels as if you're traveling to two different cities when you back and forth. This is the sort of area where you should raise your kids in. It has great schools, a lot of fun activities, and still a few nightlife spots for you to have your own fun too.

Santa Monica

Now, if you and the rest of the family love the beach, Santa Monica is what you should call home! A beautiful seaside neighborhood off of the coast of the Pacific ocean, this place has long been one of LA's aces. You've probably even seen the iconic Santa Monica pier, all lively and colorful with its array of restaurants, arcade games, and a theme park. You're guaranteed to never be bored if you stay here!

Silver Lake

If you ever wonder why LA often draws single young adults in, it's because of places like Silver Lake. This area is where the hip and trendy people hang out, mostly within the urban cafes, swanky shops, and more. Near some of the most popular tourist spots in the city, the neighborhood is perfect for when you just want to retreat and enjoy the single life. Meet new people, get to know the local lifestyle, and maybe even fulfill your dreams!

The Valley

Though the Valley is made up of other neighborhoods—Burbank, Glendale, Calabasas, and Hidden Hills, to name a few—you can consider it one huge area because the vibe is all the same: relaxed and laid-back. Similarly to Pasadena, it's the type of place that you would really forget that it's still part of LA. A more family-friendly neighborhood, complete with schools and universities for your kids to grow up in. In terms of settling down in the "City of Angels," the Valley is also your best bet!

Venice Beach

What are beaches for? To swim? Yes. To enjoy some family fun under the sun? Of course! But in Venice Beach, however, they do more than these activities. They also work out on the beach! Yep, they've practically transformed the sandy seaside land into a huge gym. After all, the beach is one of the best places to show off your physique! Why not show others how you got it too? Either way. Venice Beach is still a nice neighborhood to stay at if your calling is to live by the sea!

West Hollywood

If you were to ask which neighborhood is the liveliest and the most colorful in Los Angeles, locals will probably answer West Hollywood the most. Not only is this area still part of the capital of show business, but it's also one of the biggest LGBTQ+ cities in the world. The pride here is overflowing, filled with coffee shops, bars, nightclubs, and more. But also, the glamour of Hollywood still gleams over every once and a while!

Westwood

As far as affluent neighborhoods in LA go, you can't go wrong with Westwood. A beautiful balance of an urban metropolis with a peaceful suburban vibe, you'll get the best of both worlds here. To keep you entertained, a flurry of fun activities and shopping havens await you and the entire family. Plus, it's where UCLA is, so you know it's you'll get to find some trendy and hip places to hang out in when the night falls
