The Best Fashion Moments From The 2021 Venice Film Festival

September 11, 2021
2021-09-11
Today marks the end of the 78th annual Venice Film Festival, one of the most prestigious events in the film industry. This year featured a more standard edition, following the more restraint format last year due to the Covid-19 global pandemic. And because of that, the event's traditional glamour returned as well. Venice Film Festival 2021 saw a lot of exciting fashion moments, especially on the red carpet. The hottest stars showed off their fashion A-game, further proving their status as this generation's undisputed style icons. Here are those that took everyone's breath away.

The Best Fashion Moments From The 2021 Venice Film Festival

Zendaya in Custom Balmain

Time and time again, Zendaya continues to prove just how much of a fashion superstar she is. At this year's Venice Film Festival, she left everyone speechless yet again in a custom leather dress from Balmain. Divinely draped over her beautiful frame, she looked nothing short of a Greek goddess statue come to life on the red carpet. And of course, to top it all off, she added a bit of sparkle with a stunning emerald necklace from the Italian jewelry brand, Bvlgari. Source: Balmain Instagram Account

Dakota Johnson in Custom Gucci

Truth be told, Dakota Johnson and Gucci have been the best celebrity and designer brand pairing since Audrey Hepburn and the house of Givenchy. There's just something about Alessandro Michele's quirky yet opulent sense of style that works well with the beautifully fair and fringe-banged star. Her latest appearance at the Venice Film Festival 2021 red carpet, is further proof of that. Looking regal in an embellished and fringed silver and nude-illusion gown, it was the perfect balance between sophisticated and sexy. Very much like the '50 Shades' actress herself! Jessica Chastain in Atelier Versace

It's only natural that at a prestigious Italian event like the 78th Venice Film Festival, Italian designers take center stage. And thank goodness they did! Else, the world wouldn't have gotten the fashion moment that was Jessica Chastain in a fiery red Atelier Versace gown. There's no denying that the most viral moment in the whole festival was the steamy exchange of kisses and skinship between Chastain and her 'Scenes from A Marriage' co-star, Oscar Isaac. And apart from Isaac's swoon-inducing smolder, Chastain's red-hot look added a bit of class to the clip! Source:Jessica Chastain Instagram Account

Anna Taylor-Joy in Dior

Anna Taylor-Joy is undoubtedly the new doll-like darling of the movies. She has a kind of Mia Farrow-like coquettish look paired with the posh grace akin to Grace Kelly. But while her dainty performances harkened back to various screen icons, there was only one that she quite obviously looked like on the Venice Film Festival red carpet: Barbie! The way her platinum blond hair contrasted well against her hot pink number from Dior reminded so many about the famous American doll. And like Barbie, it seems Anna Taylor-Joy looks great in just about anything! Source:Anna Taylor-Joy Instagram Account

Rebecca Ferguson in Dior

Speaking of Dior, there was another actress on the red carpet that also looked divine in the brand, Rebecca Ferguson! In her pastel-pink dress that wafted against the wind, she looked like a fairy queen. Or a forest spirited who somehow found herself at the Venice Film Festival. Whichever it is, no one can deny that the 37-year-old actress had a fairytale-like glow about her as she posed for the cameras. It's true that one can never go wrong with Dior! Cynthia Erivo in Schiaparelli Haute Couture

Cynthia Erivo is out to prove that she's on top of the red carpet game at the Venice Film Festival. In recent years, she has proven herself to be quite the style star, going for haute couture labels and designer brands that everyone knows of. And even while she chooses these big names, she often opts for their most avant-garde and experimental looks. This time around, Erivo went with Schiaparelli haute couture from their latest fall 2021 collection. The blindingly shiny foil-like metallic frill can be seen from a mile away! Kristen Stewart in Chanel

If there's one quintessential French brand that stars swear by during European film festivals, it's Chanel. Many celebrities wore the label during the Cannes Film Festival this past July, and here in Venice, many followed suit. One of them was Kristen Stewart, a long-time Chanel muse and star of the much-anticipated film, 'Spencer.' As many would expect nothing less from a fashion rebel like here, Stewart donned a mint-green ensemble that looked more fitting in a boudoir than on the red carpet. But, of course, she pulled it off nonetheless! Source: Chanel Instagram Account

Penélope Cruz in Chanel

Another star that wore Chanel was Penélope Cruz. Like Stewart, the Academy Award-winning actress is also a Chanel muse, often donning the fashion house's couture creations on the red carpet. And while she had a lot of Chanel moments at this year's Venice Film Festival, her pristine white one-shoulder tiered dress was her best. She looked like the picture of classic elegance with her look, especially since she paired it with a nice updo and dangling diamond earrings. What's not to love? Source: Chanel Instagram Account

Bianca Balti in Dolce & Gabbana

Italian model Bianca Balti has her own Belle moment at the Venice Film Festival this year. Donning a sunny yellow gown from Dolce & Gabbana's Alta Moda collection—which was shown in Venice prior to the festival—one can't help but compare her to the Disney Princess. Doesn't she look exactly like the 'Beauty and the Beast' protagonist during the famous ballroom dance scene? And with Balti's regal looks, she couldn't help but look like royalty herself that night too! Source: Bianca Balti Instagram Account

Isabelle Huppert in Armani Privé

Trust Isabelle Huppert to always exemplify French chic even at an Italian event! The French actress, in her glittering Armani Privé bejeweled robe and midnight black pants, proved that she can still walk circles around her younger contemporaries when it comes to red carpet dressing. She looked effortless yet elegant, classic yet cool, and sexy without having a slit or too much cleavage. That's what you call a style icon! Source: Isabelle Huppert Instagram Account

The recently concluded 78th Venice Film Festival provided many fashion moments that will go down in red carpet history. From Zendaya's sculpted look to Cynthia Erivo's foil-like fantasy, the red carpet at this festival was one for the books!

Wouldn't seeing these stars in their most fabulous attire during the Venice Film Festival be something else? Well, if you had a luxury home here, that might be more possible!
