Without a doubt, Venice is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. With its serene canals and grand architecture, the entire place almost feels unreal. Or at least, feels as if the city was built specifically for people to appreciate such beauty. And nowadays, thanks to Instagram and other similar online platforms, everyone can revel in its grandiose aesthetic. Even when they're not in Venice themselves! Of course, seeing the likes of Piazza San Marco, Rialto Bridge, the Grand Canal, Burano Island, and Scala Contarini del Bovolo in person is still a totally different experience. But seeing a snapshot of them on Instagram is enough to give anyone a serious case of wanderlust!

Piazza San Marco

Undoubtedly the most famous spot in all of Venice is Piazza San Marco. Not only is it the main square of the city, but it's also surrounded by all sorts of architectural marvels. St Mark's Basilica, for example, boasts an opulent facade that will truly take your breath away. It's a gilded landmark that reflects the extravagance of the city. There's also St Mark's Clocktower, a tall structure that plays a big role during the Carnival of Venice. You simply have to be here around that time to know why it's so beloved. And finally, there's the Doge Palace, a prime example of Venetian-Gothic architecture.

Rialto Bridge

Arguably the second most famous spot in Venice is Rialto Bridge. A stunning feat of architecture and engineering from the Renaissance period, it's a definite must-see in the city. And as far as Instagram-worthy spots go, the bridge offers the best of both worlds. The landmark itself would make for great social media fodder, while the views from the bridge will captivate your followers as well. In a way, this is the city's biggest symbol, similar to the Eiffel Tower in Paris or Big Ben in London. It also helps Venice remain one of the best Instagrammable destinations in Europe.

Grand Canal

While you're on Rialto Bridge, you'll get to see another of the best Instagram-worthy spots in Venice: the Grand Canal. The biggest of its kind in the city, this is where all the water-related action happens. This is where ferries dock to set off tourists in the city. This is where most people ride gondolas just to witness the local liveliness of Venice, And every September, this is where the amazing Regatta Storico takes place. One of the most fascinating traditions of the city, it's a water pageant full of colorful gondolas, eye-catching floats, and more.

Riva Degli Schiavone

When you want to ride a gondola, where do you go? Well, just about anywhere. Practically every neighborhood in Venice has a dock or two where gondolas are parked and gondoliers are waiting for their next customers. But if you want a truly Instagrammable experience, you'd do well to check out Riva Degli Schiavone. Located in the Sestiere of Castello, it's one of, if not the most historic pier in the city. It's right behind the Doge Palace, the former residence of the Doge of Venice. Who knows what kind of important people walked here back in the day?

Bridge of Sighs

Even though Rialto Bridge is the most famous and most Instagrammable bridge in Venice, you can't overlook the Bridge of Sighs! It's a fairly small bridge, only about 8 meters long, yet it's one of the most captivating sights in the city. So much so that it's actually pretty popular in its own right. Don't think you can just take a snapshot of it just willy-nilly. More often than not, there's a line of people wanting to get the perfect shot of the famous bridge. And if you ride a gondola under it? Utterly romantic!

Scala Contarini del Bovolo

Just like Rialto Bridge, Scala Contarini del Bovolo is another Instagram-worthy spot in Venice where you can get the best of both worlds. Since the place is an architectural marvel, posting about it online will definitely grab attention. Specifically the spiral staircase! With its slightly off but still symmetric Gothic design, it almost looks like the iconic leaning Tower of Pisa. And when you get to actually climb the staircase yourself, reaching the top part comes with quite the reward: one of the best views of the city! With St. Mark's Tower on the horizon, this will be one of your finest Instagram snapshots of Venice yet!

Burano Island

Now, for something a bit more unique. As beautiful of a city as Venice is, it's not exactly the most colorful. The neutral tones of the metropolis are classic, sure, and sort of romantic. But colorful? Not exactly. If you truly want to see colors in Venice, you'll have to sail off to Burano Island. Located only a 40-minute ferry ride away from mainland Venice, the place boasts a bevy of bright hues. The houses that line the canals are rendered in such startling shades of blue, red, green, and more that you can hardly believe that you're still in Venice!

Murano Island

Another island that's also an Instagrammable spot in Venice is Murano Island. Thought what makes this place Instagram-worthy may not be what you're expecting! Home to the city's glassmaking industry, it's the exquisite glassware that's worth taking lots of pictures of! They're truly works of art, some of which are even worthy enough to be displayed in the biggest museums in the world. Not only that, but you also get to see how they're made too! There's no doubt that your Instagram followers will enjoy that content as much as the shots of the finished glassware.
