January 13, 2023

Any kid can have lots of fun in Cape Town. They can go climb mountains, spend the day at the beach, and more. On the contrary, it's the parents who might have a hard time looking after their kids. They'd have to make sure that their little ones don't get hurt or get into trouble what with all the exciting adventures this city has to offer. So in turn, parents would probably prefer to bring their kids to secure parks, wouldn't they? If you're a parent, you'd prefer to take your children to places like Freedom Adventure Park, Playalot Indoor Playpark, PlayDate Superpark, Ipic Play, and Bounce World just to make sure that they remain safe and happy.

Five Fun Parks in Cape Town For Kids

Freedom Adventure Park

From its long colorful slides to its bouncy trampolines, the Freedom Adventure Park in the Tokai suburban neighborhood in Cape Town certainly lives up to its name. No matter their age, any kid can have their own freedom adventure in this indoor playground. The older ones can jump as high as they can on the trampolines, giggling between every bounce. The little ones, on other hand, might want you, their parents/guardians, to slide with them. The slides here do seem a bit scary at first. The younger kids will need an adult to help them realize just how fun the slides really are.

Playalot Indoor Playpark

The Playalot Indoor Playpark in Kuils River is another great park for kids in Cape Town that stays true to its name. Kids can really play a lot—up until they tire themselves out—in this obstacle course of an indoor playground. They can climb, jump, and run just about anywhere here. But it is important to note that this particular park is more suited for older, active kids. Perhaps aged 4 and up. Toddlers and babies can still play here, but many of its features are better suited for older children. The pit, for instance, isn't filled with balls but rather big foam cubes—not exactly 100% safe for little ones.

PlayDate Superpark

You can say that PlayDate Superpark at the V&A Waterfront is divided into two main sections. The first is an adrenaline-pumping obstacle course complete with hanging bridges, climbing ropes, and a fort-like wooden structure to hold everything in place. With helmets and pads on, any active kid can go gaga in this part of the indoor park. The second section, on the other hand, is made up of colorful wendy houses that are perfect for playing pretend. Kids with dolls can act as parents with babies, opening up their imaginations in the process. Sounds adorably fun, doesn't it?

Ipic Play

Though it's named Ipic Play, this indoor park in Durbanville really ought to have used the word 'Epic' instead. Why? Because kids and adults can have a lot of epic fun here! Open to all ages—yes, that includes you too, parents and guardians!—this massive playground offers a whole lot of fun. There are pits filled with balls and foam cubes, hanging rings where kids can climb and swing around, and trampolines where even adults can bounce on. If you want to spend an entire day in Cape Town having fun with your entire family, this is the perfect spot!

Bounce World

Finally, there's Bounce World in the Montague Gardens of Cape Town. You can probably already tell what this place is all about from its name alone, right? Instead of a mere bouncy castle, this park offers an entirely bouncy world where kids of all ages can have the time of their lives. The smallest ones can sit and toddle on the ball pits while the older kids can go all out in bouncing all over the place. They'll be jumping all around so much, they won't want to do it for a time after your fun family day!
