Spring has finally sprung and it's time for a wardrobe change! Even more so when you're in a city like Milan, the notable fashion capital of Italy. If there's one place where you really need to sharpen your style game, it's this bustling metropolis! As the home of many Italian designer brands and luxury labels, there's no way you can't get your hands on the newest fashions. Especially since their latest lines have just hit the stores. From Versace's colorful parade of slinky dresses to Gucci's take on Old Hollywood Glamour, here are the top spring 2022 collections from Milan Fashion Week you need to shop for the season!

The Top Spring 2022 Collections from Milan Fashion Week

Gucci

Gucci is having quite the Hollywood moment thanks to the movie box office hit, 'House of Gucci,' So it makes sense that creative director, Alessandro Michele, put forth a particularly cinematic collection for spring 2022. This latest line, shown on Hollywood Boulevard itself where the brand turned the famous LA street into their own runway, had various nods to the Golden Age of Hollywood. Broad shoulders and strict silhouettes harken back to Joan Crawford and Bette Davis of the 1930s. Sweeping dresses made out of lamé and satin and hemmed with oversized frills reminded one of Jean Harlow and Rita Hayworth. It was truly a fabulous show for the ages!

Versace

The Versace show also had some star power of its own during its colorful show in Milan Fashion Week. Big-named supermodels such as Naomi Cambell and Gigi Hadid were part of the cast, as well as the Italian designer brand's latest muse, pop star Dua Lipa. As expected, Donatella Versace sent forth an army of Mediterranean party girls down the runway. Some wore eye-catching prints in sexy silhouettes, while others sported tailored suits rendered in neon colors and bared the midriff. It looks like Versace girls are bound to have an electric spring/summer 2022 season ahead!

Versace x Fendi

Speaking of Versace, arguably the biggest moment of the spring/summer 2022 Milan Fashion Week, or possibly even the entire Fashion Month, was the collaboration show between this fashion house and Fendi, another Italian luxury behemoth. Entitling this epic event as 'Fendace,' the creative directors behind these two luxury brands swapped places. Donatella Versace put her own spin on Fendi signatures by way of monogrammed lamé mini skirts exquisite leatherwear. While Kim Jones and Silvia Venturini Fendi translated the iconic Versace look into a more sophisticated array of dresses, floor-length gowns, and the like.

Salvatore Ferragamo

Ochre, ivory, mustard yellow, peony pink. These were the colors that rendered Salvatore Ferragamo's spring show during Milan Fashion Week 2022. Gone were the neon hues and stark shades that dominated the house's signatures. This more somber line had a sort of 'rebirth' feel to it, as the brand was revitalizing itself for something big. Relaxed and refined, their latest collection had a more toned-down interpretation of Italian sex appeal while highlighting the exotic vibe of the Mediterranean. What's not to love?

Prada

With a show entitled 'Seduction, Stripped Down,' Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons aimed to highlight sex for their spring 2022 collection. However, there were none of the naked dresses and provocative cutouts that appeared on the other Milan Fashion Week runways. As usual, Prada interprets the topic of sex in more intellectual and profound sartorial choices. Corsetry boning within midi-length dresses, for instance, was a tongue-in-cheek way of representing the idea of looking sexy while covered up. Silk mini-skirts with matching trains, on the other hand, captured the clash of traditional elegance and the sexual revolution during the 1960s.

Blumarine

Blumarine's spring 2022 collection perfectly captured gen Z's fascination with the Y2K style. The early 2000s are having a resurgence of sorts as many trends and looks from back then are dominating street style and TikTok videos today. And any of the youth who are resurrecting said styles will likely go gaga over Blumarine's latest line. Think of a butterfly string top made out of denim. Or of floral and fringed set paired with a matching fur-lined cover-up. Not to mention leg-baring low-waisted mini skirts too!

Missoni

As a go-to Italian brand for summer, it's no surprise that Missoni made it unto this list. Especially with such a revolutionary spring 2022 show during Milan Fashion Week. This season marks Alberto Caliri's debut as the new creative director for the house. And what does he do with Missoni's iconic signatures? Cuts and sliced them up to reveal a brand new look. Though the Missoni woman has always been sexy and confident, this season sees her looking a lot more risque than usual. A monogrammed bandeau that practically just covers up the nipples with a matching mini skirt is one definitive look.

Dolce & Gabbana

Leave it to Dolce & Gabbana to make a solid case that the pandemic really is over with a maximalist and unapologetically glamorous show during the spring/summer 2022 Milan Fashion Week. Their latest collection captured the extravagance of Italian fashion down to a tee, what with the exaggerated silhouettes, flashy animal prints, shimmering embellishments, a whole lot of logomania. These weren't clothes that one would wear at home. They're for showing off your style game on the streets, partying until the next morning, and the like.

Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini

Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini also put forth a decidedly glamorous collection for spring 2022 but compared to Dolce & Gabbana's, this one was more pulled back. Designer Lorenzo Serafini clearly had the 1970s in mind when he worked on this collection. The florals and denim had a hippie quality to them while the soft tailoring and shimmering textiles harkened back to disco glamour. The marriage between the two captured a more demure but nevertheless attention-grabbing kind of romanticism that's perfect for today's complicated times.
