From the outside, San Francisco looks like such a fun place,e doesn't it? All the Victorian houses line up together, the vintage-style cable cars, the lively rainbow-colored gay district! It seems that you will never get bored in this city! But will the kids get tired of it soon? If you visited or even moved to San Francisco with your kids, how can you ensure tha they don't end up hating the place? Well, you can always bring them to the many fun and exciting playgrounds here! Below are a handful you ought to know about as a parent to young ones!
Playground Fun in San Francisco: Where Kids Can Go To

Alta Plazza

Alta Plazza, located in Pacific Heights, one of the more residential neighborhoods in San Francisco, starts off this list because it's as classic as they come. A slide, swings, a see-saw, and more! Everything you expect a playground to have, this one has! And more often than not, that's all that matters, really! Many kids just want a classic playground to have fun. They leave it to their imagination when it comes to what kind of playtime they'll have next. As for the parents, the magnificent view you'll see from this area is more than enough to get you to come here!

Julius Kahn Playground

Over on Presidio Heights, there's the Julius Kahn playground. Now, what's so good about this area? Well, it's actually one of the safer ones on this list! With half of the playground founded on rubber flooring, there are little to no chances your kids will end up covered in scrapes while playing here. The other half is virtually made out of sand, allowing your children to dig up holes, make sandcastles, and pretend they're on the beach. The vast field right next to the playground allows the bigger kids to play all kinds of sports, from football to baseball and more!

Koret Children's Quarter

Probably the biggest playground on this list, the Koret Children's Quater is a kid's heaven on Earth! So much so that they'd rather spend time playing here instead of going to school in San Francisco. Who wouldn't want to spend their days climbing tall rope ladders that almost look like mountains or sliding down mile-long concrete slides. The latter makes for great skate ramps for the older kids too! Meanwhile, the younger children would likely enjoy riding on the carousel that's also in the park, enchanted by all the beautiful horses and blinking lights. It's a kid's paradise here!

Mission Dolores Park

Do you remember 'The Flintstones' cartoon? Remember how the fictional town 'Bedrock' looked like? Well, the Mission Dolores Park playground will remind you of that! This isn't to say that this place looks like a prehistoric area, but rather it exhibits the same type of openness and freedom. Not to mention a natural charm that makes you feel as if you're not in one of the busiest cities in the world. With a slide on a hill, loads of trees for shade, and a beautiful view to boot, even you will feel as free as your kids will while playing here.

Noe Valley Courts Playground

Out of all the playgrounds on this list, the Noe Valley Courts is probably the friendliest to families. The playground here is a toddler's paradise, what with the carpeted flooring, the not-so-intimidating features, and a close picnic area where parents can look after their young ones. The slide is high enough that they won't end up screaming after climbing it up. And the swings? Perfect for their little bodies to push around without going too high. The surrounding open field, on the other hand, is for the older kids and their sports—baseball, football, frisbee, and more!

San Francisco Zoo Playground

Finally, there's the playground in the San Francisco Zoo. Looking like a jungle from the Amazon, it's the perfect playground for kids to imitate the animals they just visited in the city's zoo. Not to mention a safe location to leave your kids in while you relax for a bit after walking around for hours! With all sorts of bars to climb, swings to ride, and the like, your children will get energized again just by seeing this playground from afar. And since the zoo is one of the more famous tourist attractions in the city, the place is easy to get to via public transport!
