Going to Paris for vacation is one thing, but actually moving there is an entirely different matter. For one thing, you have to choose which arrondissement you're going to call home. With over 20 in total, it's difficult to choose which one. Though going with the first ain't half bad! After all, this place has a perfect balance of hustle and hush that's great for a city lifestyle. And while there are many tourist spots here, they're only half of the reason why you should consider relocating to this part of Paris. Here are a few others worth mentioning.

The Place Vendôme, the Tuileries Gardens, the River Seine—there are but some of the beautiful and famous spots in the 1st arrondissement. And their beauty alone makes living here the right decision. Whatever your initial reason for getting relocated to Paris may be, you ought to enjoy the stunning view and the heartwarming aesthetics it offers, right? And there's no denying that this part of the French capital is one of the most beautiful. All of Paris is breathtaking, yes, but the 1st arrondissement offers views and sights that one can only dream of seeing every single day!

Though living in Paris will probably have you walking around anyways, there's nothing like taking a stroll for leisure. To get lost in your own thoughts without any worry of a destination. While, yes, the 1st arrondissement can get crowded with tourists from time to time, the area does not lack in peaceful spaces for you to simply stroll, relax, and take a breather.

Living near the Louvre has its many perks. The first is that you get easy and instant access to the world-famous museum whenever you can. This allows you to explore the other parts of this vast gallery, those that aren't filled with tourists snapping away. The second perk is that, since the museum is somewhat of a central area in the city, expect easy access with public transport as well. In this busy spot, you'll have little to no trouble getting a taxi that you won't even need an app to hail one. And third? When your friends and family visit you in Paris, there's automatically one tourist activity, near your home, they can do no problem!

Okay, perhaps it's a bit of a stretch to say that the 1st arrondissement is the "lap of luxury of Paris." The city is known for haute living and the fashion capital of the world, so most of the places here have their own little havens of luxury. But the 1st arrondissement definitely has one of the most famous: Rue St. Honoré! Regarded by many as the "home of haute couture" in the French capital, you'll find that countless French designer brands and luxury labels from other countries have set up shop here. For those of you who want to live as a fashionable Parisian, settling down near this street in the 1st arrondissement will be a wise move!

All of Paris is practically a sweet tooth's paradise. From luxurious patisseries to charming cafés, there's no end to the number of places you can get your dessert fix. Though the 1st arrondissement is particularly noteworthy because it has some of the most famous in the city. Angelina's is definitely one of them! A classic Parisian café, the place is so well-known that even the great Coco Chanel was once a patron. Here, you can indulge in a sumptuous cup of hot chocolate, delicious cakes, and, of course, delectable macarons! And this is just one place! Wait until you go to the others!

A Peaceful Corner of Paris

If you can find peace in Paris, you hit the jackpot. The city is just so busy and bustling that, at times, you just need a break. And the 1st arrondissement has a lot of places just for that! Yeah, a good number of the French capital's most famous tourist attractions are located here, but they only make up about half of the area. The 1st arrondissement is a healthy balance of tourist hotspots and local retreats that's simply perfect. You can just as easily avoid the crowds when you slip away to the lesser-known parts of the district.
