Trendy doesn't even begin to describe the 3rd arrondissement, particularly the Marias district. With a population dominated by students, young professionals, and newlyweds, most of the places you'll see here are hip and happening. Think hipster cafés with vegan menus and strong wifi that's suitable for people to work with. Vintage shops that sell quirky clothing and timeless pieces, And art galleries that display the world of up-and-coming names in the art world. Though Paris, as a whole, embraces the past, the 3rd arrondissement embraces the now and definitely looks forward into the future.

Part of the reason why the 3rd arrondissement is one of the trendiest in the city is because it's also largely a gay district. Dominated by the LGBTQ+ community, the vibe here is loud and proud. There's also no shortage of gay-themes establishments here too, especially bars. Though many of them may be a bit NSFW and not suitable for children. And during Pride Month, expect the arrondissement the host the biggest Gay Pride parade in France! So if you're a member of this community, you'll likely feel the most comfortable living in this area!

You'll also feel right at home here in the 3rd arrondissement if you're Jewish. This area houses the biggest Jewish community in the city, with all sorts of establishments set up by and catered to the residents who follow Judaism. In terms of culinary hotspots, expect a lot of them to be kosher here, as well as a dominance in Middle-Eastern cuisine. You'll also find numerous synagogues and other places of worship for the Jewish faith in the area, each more colorful and as solemn as the next. And knowing the city's history with the Jews, especially during World War II, it's heartwarming to see their community flourish in the French capital today.

Though the Jewish faith isn't the only religion that's prevalent in the 3rd arrondissement. This area is a suitable place for Roman Catholics too, mostly because there's a handful of churches and basilica here. The churches dedicated to St. Nicolas des Champs, St. Martin des Champs, and St. Elizabeth of Hungary are just some of the magnificent structures to look out for here. Beyond just providing a feast for the eyes, they all still hold masses regularly, especially during Sunday morning. Though in order to hear mass here, you'll need to learn French. None of these places of worship hear English masses.

Since the 3rd arrondissement does have a more youth-dominated population, it's not surprising that street and flea markets flourish here. After all, they offer quality items at reasonable, at times even criminally cheap prices. Students and young professionals who may not be earning much (or at all!) could still afford to live in Paris via these types of places. And here in this area, there's plenty to go to. The Marché des Enfatns Rouge is a noteworthy market, not only because they sell at cheap prices and such, but also because it's one of the more aesthetically-pleasing of the lot!

Paris is arguably the most artistic city in the world. From the classic museums to the modern art galleries, no to mention the street painters and such, there's plenty of artistic expressions to go around in the city. And you'll find a lot of them in the 3rd arrondissement. Now, shouldn't this be more for tourists than for a future local such as yourself? Not necessarily! Galleries and museums are also great places to entertain your clients apart from treating them to a nice meal. In fact, a lot of important people socialize and mingle in these places, especially when there are exhibition launches and the like. Knowing where they are would benefit your career!

You'll also realize that in this type of place, it's better to pick a luxury apartment for your home than anything else!
